About Channel 49

The jury is still out as to how virtual worlds will or will not become a part of our everyday lives or entertainment.  Currently half of the people in the Metaverse are under the age of 18.  What this means is that if a brand has decided to have a presence in a virtual world, they are likely trying to reinforce their brand by creating new ways for future customers to engage with them, or they are creating a new revenue stream by offering digital products.  

Every brand’s goal should be to create loyalty in their customers to encourage repeat purchases.  In the Metaverse, brand loyalty is achieved by presenting creative experiences that are interesting enough to bring people back.

Overview:  Nike is a footwear company that creates shoes for active people.

Nike has fully embraced the Metaverse and its possibilities.  As a brand, they have always tried to be at the forefront not only of materials science for their products, but also in the way that they engage with their customers.  

Nike has created Nikeland within the Roblox platform.  From appearances by sports superstars, to games, to NFT’s and the sale of merch that can be worn by avatars throughout all Roblox spaces, they continue to build innovative experiences for visitors to Nikeland.
