About Channel 39

Most digital worlds offer in-game upgrades such as stronger armor or a more deadly sword.  This is not what I am highlighting, however, in Channel 39.  Many of these worlds allow third parties to build branded experiences and to sell digital products using a currency that is native to the platform.  Products sold could include attire for the player’s avatar, accessories, event tickets, and NFT’s.

Overview:  The National Football League is a sports league for American Football.

Brands that are events focused IRL (In Real Life) and sell a lot of merch are a great fit for the Metaverse.  If a brand has the budget, it is possible to create a vast experience on a particular world.  The NFL has an ongoing project of building a merchandise store inside of Roblox.  Roblox players can buy branded helmets, jerseys and more to wear on their avatar.
